Mercedes 814D Expedition Truck

This ex fire engine received a subframe, box and set of custom toolboxes from us as well as a fresh paint job and a new bill of health from the workshop.

Fire Engine

This Mercedes 814D Vario crew cab had done it's service and now longed for travel.

Removing the body

The first thing to go was the old body, this would make space for the 3.7m habitation box.

Laying the Foundations

We started off the box build with the floor panel and a set of welded aluminium frames to support the interior build.

Building the Box

The wall are bonded on, we use a fully bonded construction for all our habitation box builds so there are no cold bridges.

Finished Unit

With all the cappings on and the windows fitted the box is ready to go onto the truck.

Subframe and Boxes

The toolboxes are mudguards are test fit onto the subframe before they go off to get powder coated.

Box On

The subframe and box is carefully lowered onto the truck.

Matching Paint

With a tasteful coat of VW Seasand paint and white cab roof, the truck was now looking the part and ready to have it's accessories refitted.

Ready to Go

With everything fitted, the truck is ready to go off and get it's interior fitted out and to be enjoyed on it's travels.
