Frank Atkinson & Jaap Vos formed a partnership in 1976 initially buying used trucks, driving to West Africa then selling them.
After many years of successful trading they established a base in Cameroon and latterly in the UK.
Their first Unimog sale was in 1991 and Unimog quickly became the mainstay of the business.
Simon Ward joined the business in 2001 and with his enthusiasm for anything with four or more big wheels, the Unimog sales, workshop, parts & accessories went from strength to strength.
Having serviced the Expedition Vehicle market with the supply of base vehicles for many years our range of accessories developed to include many products specifically designed for this market, including larger diesel tanks and uprated springs.
An order for 12 Unimogs for the Mining Industry in Africa meant a rapid learning curve about sandwich panels and adhesives.
With this order successfully completed our confidence was bolstered sufficiently to build a number of one-off habitation boxes on Unimogs and other trucks.
We learnt a great deal along the way and made the decision that we didn’t want to follow the crowd/copy what other UK box builders were doing.
Our solution had to be innovative, lightweight and robust.
Through a combination of engineering expertise, practical experience, and real-world testing we refined our panel specs, adhesives and mounting system to offer what we believe is the best combination of quality, value and customer service in the World.
