MAN 10.225 Camper Truck
Our customer purchased this MAN truck with a vision of turning it into a go-anywhere expedition vehicle in which to travel the globe. We designed, engineered and fitted a custom 4 point torsion free subframe, fully bonded composite habitation box and a range of accessories to create this impressive build.
The Base Vehicle
This 2003 MAN 10.225 had been used as a support vehicle for rally raid and was well suited for an offroad camper with 4WD, diff locks and 220HP.
Extended Range
One of the first jobs was to fit two custom large capacity diesel tanks to equip the truck for long stretches of offroad travel.
Storage Galore
We added full side skirts and rear toolboxes off which not only add a ton of storage but they help aesthetically to integrate the habitation box with the truck.
Checking Clearances
With the subframe and side skirts fitted we carried out a torsion test to ensure that nothing clashes even at maximum articulation - this is one of the things we do to ensure our builds are as capable as they possibly can be.
Box Coming Together
The box is built out of CNC cut composite panels and fully bonded together. On this occasion we fitted some internal frames and a water tank into the box to help with the interior build.
Outbound windows
With the box almost complete we bonded in the windows and doors. We usually use Outbound apertures as they are really good quality with tempered glass without being ridiculously expensive. Outbound Windows, Doors and Hatches
A fresh coat of paint
The box is sent off to the paint shop and comes back looking smart in a matching grey to the truck cab.
Chassis Black
The truck gets a coat of chassis paint to smarten it up and give it some corrosion protection.
Together at Last
The box is mounted onto the truck via the 4-point torsion free subframe. This allows the truck to articulate and protects the box from any torsional forces.
Custom Roof Rack
To finish off the build we added this roof rack and cab protection frame that was designed custom to suit this truck.
The Finished Article
Ready to have it's interior kitted out and then hit the road.
