Our custom designed Unimog acoustic engine blanket significantly reduces in cab engine noise making your Unimog driving experience significantly quieter & more refined.
They are constructed from a sheet of blocking lead, sandwiched inside two layers of class "O" fire rated acoustic foam, then covered with a high heat resistant Fortaglas fabric impregnated with silicone to resist oil & grease.
The lead blocks the engine sound and the foam absorbs the airborne sounds.
In real world testing we found that the engine blanket alone reduces noise levels in the cab by 3-6 decibels depending on road speed & engine revs.
The harsh clatter from the Unimog's diesel engine is significantly reduced. The engine blanket is particularly effective at higher engine revs and the effect is most noticeable during acceleration and prolonged driving at highway speeds.
For optimum sound deadening we recommend that the engine blanket is used together with our cab soundproofing kit.
The blankets are waterproof and fire proof with fully bound edges. They are very easy to fit and can be secured using the strategically placed brass eyelets.
